Retired NFL players could still attend Broadcast Boot Camp

broadcastbootcamp

The NFL started “Broadcast Boot Camp” four years ago, and it’s grown into a popular offseason endeavor for current and former players looking to get jobs in television.

It’s yet another offseason activity that will be affected by a prolonged lockout.

NFL vice president of law and labor policy Adolpho Birch told Bob Papa and Derrick Brooks on SIRIUS Radio Friday that current players won’t be able to attend this year if the lockout lasts until June. Birch indicated that retired players will be able be able to attend.

That raises an interesting decision for retired players. Will they not show up as a show of solidarity?

This is basically the flip side of rookies possibly not attending the NFL draft. We would imagine the retired players would not attend the camp, even if they are making a bigger sacrifice than the rookies.
