For Rex Ryan, it’s always been about the Patriots.
And that’s true no matter who is under center.
Even though his team will ostensibly benefit from not having to play suspended quarterback Tom Brady once (they’re scheduled to play in Week Two), the Bills head coach said it didn’t concern him who was playing.
“For us, we know we’re playing the Patriots Week Two,” Ryan said, via Mike Rodak of ESPN.com. “No matter who’s there, we’re playing them Week 2. They’re playing us.
“[Bill] Belichick is bringing his team in and he’ll have his team prepared. We’ll have our team prepared too.”
While Ryan wasn’t biting on the league’s suspending Brady for four games for his role in DeflateGate, deferring to the league’s investigation, saying: “They know all the facts.”
Asked if he’d rather play Brady, Ryan declined to fuel the fire.
“No I don’t,” he said. “I just want to beat them, no matter who’s back there.”
It’s probably best not to throw any more gas on this particular inferno, especially considering the possibility that Brady could win an appeal, and be out there against Ryan’s team anyway.
