The Colts and Jaguars kick off Week 10 in a little more than 24 hours and Colts linebacker Robert Mathis’ status for the game is still up in the air.
Mathis has been listed as questionable for the game because of the back injury that knocked him out of last Sunday’s victory over the Dolphins. Mathis did not participate in practice at all this week as a result of the injury, which came in his first game back from a knee injury that had kept him out of the previous three games.
The newly shorn Colts also listed center Samson Satele, running back Donald Brown, tackle Winston Justice and wide receiver Donnie Avery as questionable. Avery was the only one to take part in practice. Starting cornerbacks Jerraud Powers and Vontae Davis and tight end Coby Fleener were previously ruled out.
Jacksonville’s biggest injury question concerns cornerback Rashean Mathis. He’s missed the last two games with a groin injury and didn’t practice at all this week, but he’s being given a shot to play with the questionable tag. Running back Maurice Jones-Drew doesn’t have any such chance and the Jags will be missing fullback Greg Jones and defensive back Dwight Lowery as well.
