Rodgers spreads the ball around as Packers score 25 straight
Early in the second quarter tonight in Atlanta, when the Falcons had a 14-0 lead over the Packers, it looked like Green Bay was on its way to its first loss of the season.
At least, it looked that way to those who forgot that this is the NFL season when no lead is safe, when quarterbacks are moving the ball at will, and when offenses are doing unprecedented things in the passing game.
And so the Packers methodically went from down 14-0 to winning 25-14, with Aaron Rodgers leading the way by completing 26 of 39 passes for 396 yards, with two touchdowns and no interceptions. Rodgers completed passes to a Packers franchise record 12 different receivers.
The Packers are now 5-0 and have the best record in the NFL at the moment, a record the Lions can match on Monday night. It’s clear that the Super Bowl champions remain the class of the NFL.
And as for the Falcons, whom many experts viewed as threats to take the title from the Packers? They’re 2-3 and facing serious questions about whether they can be contenders this season.
