It looks like the Texans will get a couple of games to evaluate rookie quarterback Tom Savage before the end of the regular season.
According to multiple reports, Ryan Fitzpatrick fractured his left leg when he was injured in the first half of Sunday’s game against the Colts. Fitzpatrick will miss the rest of the season as a result of the injury.
Savage is 8-of-11 for 112 yards in the first action of his NFL career and the Texans trail the Colts 14-10 in the fourth quarter of their game in Indianapolis. The Texans are trying for their first-ever win in Indiana and would be eliminated from playoff contention with a loss.
Ryan Mallett is already on injured reserve, leaving Thad Lewis as the only other quarterback on the 53-man roster in Houston. Lewis is inactive on Sunday.
