One of Washington’s standout players is on the mend.
Outside linebacker Ryan Kerrigan is anticipated to be held out of some of the club’s organized team practice activities (OTAs) after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery, Tarik El-Bashir of CSN Washington reported Wednesday.
The 26-year-old Kerrigan notched a career-high 13.5 sacks in 2014. The 2011 first-round pick has started and played every game in which he’s played for Washington, recording 247 tackles and 38 sacks.
According to CSN Washington, Kerrigan had been dealing with knee soreness.
Washington’s OTAs begin next Tuesday. The series of nine workout days runs through June 11. The club then has its mandatory minicamp from June 16 through June 18.
