The Saints waived safety Vinnie Sunseri and defensive end Tavaris Barnes on Monday.

Sunseri was a fifth-round pick in 2014. He played in nine games as a rookie before breaking his arm and missed all of last season after a preseason knee injury forced him to the injured-reserve list. Sunseri is the son of Raiders linebackers coach Sal Sunseri, a longtime college assistant who also spent seven years as the Panthers defensive line coach.

The release of Vinnie Sunseri leaves wide receiver Brandin Cooks as the only player from the Saints 2014 draft class still on the roster.

Barnes made the Saints as an undrafted rookie out of Clemson last season and played in 13 games. He recorded five tackles.
