The Jaguars gave cornerback Aaron Ross a few days off to watch his wife run in the 400 meters at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London this weekend.

Sanya Richards-Ross made the trip pay off in a major way on Sunday afternoon. Richards-Ross won gold after posting a 49.55 and finishing ahead of the other seven finalists. The closest competitor finished .15 seconds behind Richards-Ross, who adds the gold to the bronze medal she won in the event during the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. She has also won gold in the last two 4X400 meter relays and is expected to be part of the U.S. team again this year.

If Richards-Ross wins gold in that event, she will tie the record for most gold medals in track and field by a woman.

The couple could turn a lot of heads if they wear all of the jewelry they’ve won for their athletic pursuits out on their next date night. Ross won a pair of Super Bowl rings with the Giants before bolting for Jacksonville as a free agent this offseason.
