Texans quarterback Matt Schaub is out of the hospital and expected to be on the field for practice Thursday, despite a “bursa sac issue” that hospitalized him this week, according to Paul Kuharsky of ESPN.com writes.
“All indications” are that Schaub should play Sunday, but the situation is unique enough that no one seems to know for sure.
“A hospital stay suggests doctors were aggressively fighting an infection with IV antibiotics,” Kuharsky said. “If that doesn’t work, things could get more complicated.”
Houston’s season is hanging by a thread even with Schaub healthy. The offensive line has struggled to protect Schaub and has to face the Jets in New York this week. Dan Orlovsky remains Houston’s backup ahead of Matt Leinart.
