Schottenheimer won’t be leaving for Vanderbilt

Schottenheimer

Rams fans, we’ve got good news and bad news. Actually, it’s good news or bad news, depending on one’s perspective.

Offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer won’t be leaving. He recently interviewed for the head-coaching position at Vanderbilt. But the job has gone to Stanford defensive coordinator Derek Mason.

As a result, Schottenheimer apparently will be back for a third season.

Despite some internal grumblings early in the season, Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch points out that the Rams scored their most total points since 2006. That said, the Rams averaged only 13.2 in six games this year against the NFC West.
