After pursuing unsuccessfully former New England tight end Benjamin Watson, the Seahawks still had a need at the position.
And they filled it by signing another tight end who most recently played for the Patriots.
Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, Baker signed a two-year, $4.75 million deal with the Seahawks. He’ll make $2.75 million in 2010.
The Pats made no serious attempt to re-sign either player -- but they now need to take serious steps to upgrade, either via free agency or the draft.
