Seahawks WR Lockette concussed in scary collision

Lockette

Seahawks wide receiver Ricardo Lockette was taken off the field by stretcher late in the first half Sunday after a collision with Jeff Heath of the Cowboys.

After halftime, the Seahawks announced that Lockette suffered a concussion but has full movement in his extremities. He’s staying in a Dallas-area hospital overnight for observation.

Medical staff attended to Lockette for about 10 minutes and removed his facemask but not his helmet. He flashed a thumbs-up sign as the stretcher was taken off the AT&T Stadium field.

Lockette was covering a punt when he collided with Heath near midfield. Heath was flagged for an illegal blindside hit.

The Cowboys took a knee on the following play to end the half. The Seahawks lead, 10-6; the only touchdown came on a 22-yard pass from Russell Wilson to Luke Willson.

Cowboys pass rusher Greg Hardy was taken to the locker room before Lockette was injured. Hardy was back on the field in the second half.
