The further away we get from the Super Bowl, the more the NFL is willing to give ticketed fans that were not given seats in Dallas.

Darren Rovell of CNBC reports the NFL will give ticket holders a third option to be reimbursed. It’s essentially the choice Florio has been pushing all along.

Fans will be able to recoup all verified expenses for the game or $5,000, whichever is greater. Hard to argue with that.

Previously, fans had two options. They could get $2,400 and a transferable ticket to next year’s game or they could get a future Super Bowl ticket (year of their choosing) plus hotel and airfare to the game. (Those tickets would not be transferable.)

This third option should satisfy most reasonable fans, even if it doesn’t stop the class action lawsuit against the league.
