The indefinite suspension of South Carolina pass rusher Dylan Stewart has gotten a specific duration.
Via Alex Scarborough of ESPN, South Carolina and the SEC have suspended Stewart one game for his actions against Alabama on Saturday night, when he punched a Crimson Tide player.
“Dylan Stewart’s egregious contact reflects behavior that is unacceptable and not aligned with the standards of the Southeastern Conference,” SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey saidin a statement. “Such action against an opponent carries a serious risk of injury and has no place in our conference competition. This suspension is appropriate, and any future misconduct by Dylan Stewart will result in more severe disciplinary action.”
South Carolina had suspended Stewart indefinitely on Sunday, both for the punch and for a sideline altercation with coaches.
Stewart is regarded as a potential top-10 pick in the 2027 draft.
