The 40s and the verticals might make for better TV, but the biggest thing teams get out of the Scouting Combine is the access to all the medical information they can gather.

And it appears they need a little more about a potential first-round pass-rusher.

According to Albert Breer of the NFL Network, Clemson defensive end Shaq Lawson will go back to Indianapolis for a medical re-check, after a shoulder issue was flagged during his initial physical there.

Lawson didn’t miss a game at Clemson in three years, and had 12.5 sacks this year, so it obviously didn’t bother him that much. But he didn’t bench press at the Combine, so there’s some concern. And before teams invest a high pick in a guy, they want to see every flaw, and they’re going to get a chance to inspect Lawson further for one.
