Jets defensive end Sheldon Richardson is headed to the Pro Bowl.

Richardson has replaced injured Buccaneers defensive tackle Gerald McCoy on the Pro Bowl roster, the Jets announced Wednesday. McCoy finished the regular season on injured reserve with a right knee ailment.

An end in the Jets’ 3-4 scheme, the 24-year-old Richardson notched 67 tackles and eight tackles this season. This is his first Pro Bowl nod.

Richardson was one of the most notable Pro Bowl snubs, primarily because then-Jets head coach Rex Ryan took up for his player, reportedly criticizing the inclusion of the Rams’ Aaron Donald and the omission of Richardson.

In the end, though, Richardson got his ticket to Arizona.
