Steelers wide receiver Markus Wheaton did not practice Saturday and has been ruled out of Monday night’s game vs. the Redskins.

Wheaton has been battling a shoulder injury. He caught 44 passes last season, a career-best five for touchdowns.

Wheaton is the starter opposite All-World wide receiver Antonio Brown. Either second-year man Sammie Coates or veteran Darrius Heyward-Bey will replace him in the starting lineup.

Also ruled out for the Steelers are fullback Roosevelt Nix, backup offensive lineman Cody Wallace and defensive back Senquez Golson, who’s expected to miss significant time due to a training camp foot injury.
