The Steelers have retained one of their special teams regulars of recent seasons.
The club announced Wednesday it had signed long-snapper Greg Warren to a one-year deal.
The 33-year-old Warren has been the Steelers’ long-snapper since 2005, appearing in 149 regular-season games. He was slated to be an unrestricted free agent.
Wrapping up a deal with Warren now makes sense for player and team. The Steelers keep a player they know well, and Warren likely secures his position for another season.
With Warren signed, the only real intrigue at the long-snapper spot is whom will back up the incumbent.
