The Steelers are the latest team to start signing their draft picks.

Pittsburgh is taking a page from Johnny Manziel’s pal Drake and starting from the bottom. They have signed sixth-round defensive tackle Daniel McCullers and seventh-round tight end Rob Blanchflower, the final two picks in their nine-man draft class.

McCullers is a very large man, standing 6-7 and weighing over 350 pounds, and that should make him a contender for an early-down role as a run stuffer on the Steelers front line. McCullers knows that he can’t just rely on size to get him on the field, though.
“Show that I can run to the ball that I do have speed and that I will use it,” McCullers said, via the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. “Run to the ball. That’s what they’ve wanted me to do from the moment they brought me here.”

Blanchflower had 70 catches for 777 yards and five touchdowns during his career at UMass and will likely find himself competing for time on special teams as a rookie with Heath Miller and Matt Spaeth looking like the top two tight ends.
