Back in February, the Lions told linebacker Stephen Tulloch that he wasn’t part of their plans for the 2016 season but Tulloch remained on the roster long enough to get a $500,000 roster bonus in March and remains on the roster now.

Tulloc was signing copies of his new children’s book outside Detroit on Thursday and addressed his status with the team. He said his agent Drew Rosenhaus was in town to talk to the team as well and hoped that there would be a resolution sooner rather than later.

“It’s been a long journey,” Tulloch said, via the Detroit Free Press. “Obviously, I was told back in February that the team kind of wanted to go in a younger direction, which is understandable, but we had some things to work out in between, between that, that’s why kind of things haven’t really unfolded. But hopefully we can resolve things in the next couple days hopefully and kind of get things under wrap and we can kind of finalize things.”

Tulloch said he had no bad feelings toward the Lions for how things have played out and didn’t totally rule out the chance that he’d wind up remaining with the team for the 2016 season, which would certainly make for an unexpected twist to cap the offseason in Detroit.
