On Friday, Jerry McDonald of InsideBayArea.com reported that Eastern Washington running back Taiwan Jones missed a meeting with the Raiders.
Agent Doug Hendrickson, who represents Jones, tells PFT that no meeting was scheduled with the Raiders.
McDonald’s report strongly implies that he spoke with Jones: “In other player developments, Central [sic] Washington running back Taiwan Jones, whom the Raiders were watching closely at his pro day at Los Medanos College in Pittsburgh, said he was late getting back from a visit to Miami and missed a visit with the Raiders in Alameda. Jones, who attended but didn’t work out at the Pro Day with the 49ers, said he wasn’t aware of a rescheduled date with Oakland.”
Still, Hendrickson insists no meeting was scheduled.
That said, Jones definitely visited with the Dolphins last week. He arrived Monday, and the bulk of the visit occurred on Tuesday.
And he definitely didn’t visit the Raiders. The only question at this point is whether he ever was supposed to.
