Tarvaris Jackson indicated via his Twitter account Wednesday night that he is set to return to the Seattle Seahawks for another season.

A team spokesman confirmed the move is expected to happen.

Jackson returned to Seattle last season to serve as backup quarterback to Russell Wilson after being released by the Buffalo Bills. The Seahawks had traded Jackson to Buffalo in 2012 after electing to go with Wilson and Matt Flynn in the battle for their starting job.

Jackson appeared in relief duty only for Seattle last season, appearing in three regular season game and the Super Bowl. He completed 10 of 13 passes for 151 yards and a touchdown with a 140.2 passer rating. He had a terrific preseason as well for Seattle, completing 26 of 36 passes for 357 yards, three touchdowns and a 131.4 passer rating. He did not throw an interception in any game action last year.

Jackson wanted to stay in Seattle and the Seahawks wanted him back. Jackson joins Wilson and B.J. Daniels as quarterbacks under contract with Seattle for next season.
