Texans dial up Deltha O’Neal

With cornerback Jacques Reeves on the shelf with a broken leg and cornerback Dunta Robinson an unsigned franchise player, the Texans have taken steps to shore up a thin position by bringing in veteran cornerback Deltha O’Neal.

The team announced the move earlier this evening. (It’s evening in the time zone that matters. Signed, East Coast Bias.)

O’Neal was a first-round pick of the Broncos in 2000, and he spent four seasons there when Texans coach Gary Kubiak served as the team’s offensive coordinator. O’Neal has played for the Bengals and, last year, the Patriots.

The Texans also signed running back Andre Hall, released defensive tackle Jake Visser, and waived/injured running back Jeremiah Johnson.
