Texans hire Clay Hampton as director of football ops

The Texans have hired Clay Hampton for their newly created position of director of football operations, John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Hampton, 51, is the Jets’ former senior director of football operations.

He will answer to General Manager Brian Gaine.

Hampton had various duties with the Jets from 2001-17. He started as a Jets ball boy.
