With the playoffs approaching, the AFC South champion Texans are reeling with injuries.
Texans safety Jimmie Ward will miss the rest of the season with a foot injury, coach DeMeco Ryans confirmed today.
The 33-year-old Ward has started 10 games for the Texans this season and has been an important veteran presence in their secondary. Losing him will hurt as the Texans prepare to host a playoff game during the first playoff weekend.
The Texans also lost wide receiver Tank Dell for the season with a torn ACL and dislocated kneecap, and losing Ward is another big loss for a team that can’t afford many more of them.
