The 49ers are double-digit underdogs for first time since ’11

underdog

While this is for informational and entertainment purposes only, the fact remains, the 49ers haven’t been this kind of underdog for a long time.

According to Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com, the 49ers are currently 10-point underdogs heading into this week’s trip to Seattle.

The last time the gambling establishment saw fit to give that kind of bump to encourage folks to bet on the 49ers was in 2011.

That was coach Jim Harbaugh’s first year, and it was an early season game at Philadelphia.

The 49ers came back from a 23-3 deficit to beat the Eagles 24-23 that day, on an Alex Smith and Frank Gore-led effort.

That game signaled their arrival as a contender under Harbaugh, but now, they’re 7-6, and heading into what appears to be the last three games of his tenure. Whether they respond as well to the perceived slights of Las Vegas remains to be seen.
