A company that has made T-shirts printed with the words “My Jesus” in a design that looks like the “NY Jets” logo of Tim Tebow’s team is feeling the wrath of Tebow’s lawyers.
The shirt doesn’t have Tebow’s name or likeness on it, but the company, CubbyTees.com, refers to the design as a “Tim Tebow New York Jets T Shirt” on its website (which was down this morning). TMZ obtained the cease and desist letter Tebow’s attorneys sent to CubbyTees.com, which says, “The Merchandise makes it appear as if Mr. Tebow actually endorses Cubby Tees and its products.”
On its website , the shirt company said, “This fun design is not officially endorsed by New York’s backup quarterback or the Son of God, but plays off the themes of Tebow’s faith and his new team.”
Tebow’s attorneys have already successfully convinced eBay not to sell the shirts, but CubbyTees.com told TMZ it plans to continue selling the shirts.
