Titans owner skipped owners meeting in town she lives in

It’s reasonable to look at the Titans situation at the moment and think they’re a rudderless ship.

And it probably doesn’t change that perception that owner Amy Adams Strunk skipped yesterday’s owners meeting, even though it was held in the town she lives in.

According to Paul Kuharsky of ESPN.com, the Titans said Adams didn’t attend the meetings because she was focused on hiring a general manager and a coach, sending CEO and fantastic-mustache-owner Steve Underwood in her stead.

“Amy is focused on our GM and head coach searches, and Steve, who has been our point person on all items related to Los Angeles, is representing us at the meetings and keeping Amy informed,” Titans spokesman Jimmy Stanton said.

Browns owner Jimmy Haslam also skipped the meeting, sending his wife and co-owner Dee instead. He was interviewing Hue Jackson a second time yesterday.

There were no confirmed interviews for the Titans yesterday.

At a time when owners are lining up to buy a team that isn’t reportedly for sale, and given her proximity to the meeting (she lives just outside Houston), it looks like a fairly personal snub.

And that probably doesn’t change the perception that the league would prefer someone other than Adams Strunk to own the team.
