Titans players in awe of Randy Moss

Titans coach Jeff Fisher doesn’t think that there’s any risk arising from picking up receiver Randy Moss on waivers.

Fisher may feel differently now that the Pied Piper has shown up.

According to Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com, the Titans’ players are “star struck” by the 13-year veteran who currently ranks second on the all-time receiving touchdown list.

“I was excited out there to see some of the things he does,” running back Chris Johnson said after Moss’ first practice on Wednesday. “To grow up watching a player like that and to be on the same practice field and get to see him play is exciting. He was one of the favorites. They named ‘Mossing’ after him, ‘Mossing’ somebody. He was one of my favorites.”

Receiver Kenny Britt agrees, even if he didn’t quite know who Randy was when growing up.

“When I was a little kid, I really didn’t watch football as much as other kids and things like that. I played football and everybody would be, ‘Oh, you’ve got a Moss.’ When you go up in the red zone and catch one over somebody, everybody would say, ‘You got a Moss.’ And I was like, ‘Who is Moss?’” Britt said. “Then I got into watching football and seeing him play now on the same team is wonderful.”

It’s wonderful for now. But if/when Moss decides to dog it or gets frustrated or otherwise creates an example that Fisher doesn’t want him to create and bristles when Fisher tries to tell him to knock it off, a team that currently is contending for a playoff berth in the AFC easily could be turned upside down.
