For years, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s name has appeared on the injury report with a “right shoulder” injury that never keeps him from playing. Or from practicing.
More recently, the word “foot” has appeared in parentheses with “right shoulder” after his name -- and he has missed the last two Wednesday practices because of it.
Of course, it didn’t seem to be hurting him against the Steelers.
Still, it’s bad enough to keep him from practicing, so something is going on. But it would be foolish to expect the Pats to elaborate.
Also missing practice on Wednesday were safety Jarrad Page (calf) and defensive tackle Myron Pryor (back). Guard Steve Neal (shoulder), running back Fred Taylor (toe), and cornerback Jonathan Wilhite (hip) practiced on a limited basis.
For the Colts, nine players missed practice: running back Joseph Addai (neck), linebacker Gary Brackett (toe), tight end Brody Eldridge (rib), defensive end Dwight Freeney (not injury related), running back Mike Hart (ankle), safety Bob Sanders (biceps), linebacker Clint Session (elbow), cornerback Justin Tryon (foot), and receiver Reggie Wayne (knee).
Practicing on a limited basis were receiver Austin Collie (concussion) and receiver Blair White (shoulder).
The 6-3 Colts and the 7-2 Patriots meet again on Sunday afternoon.
