Tony Romo was disqualified from a golf tournament, on the same day CBS announced his exit

Last Friday was a very strange day for Tony Romo.

It started with CBS and Romo announcing that he had parted ways with the network where he had served as the top NFL game analyst. It ended with Romo being disqualified from a golf tournament for submitting an erroneous scorecard.

Via Chris Cwik of Yahoo Sports, the disqualification happened in the final round of a Korn Ferry pre-qualifier, as Romo was attempting to make the cut for the Korn Ferry tour.

Romo put himself down for a four on the 16th hole and a four on the 17th hole. As it turned out, Romo had a five and a five.

Romo took responsibility for the mistake, which may have resulted from the fact that Romo’s trio had been placed on a clock due to slow play.

Even with the incorrect score, it wouldn’t have been enough to get Romo onto the Korn Ferry tour.

Romo’s broadcasting future is cloudy, to say the least. Until he makes his next move, he’ll presumably be working to further hone his golf game.
