Steelers safety Troy Polamalu says his injured knee has felt good this preseason. But he’s apparently worried about his flowing locks.
Polamalu has reportedly had his hair insured for $1 million through Lloyd’s of London, as part of a publicity stunt to bring attention to Head & Shoulders shampoo, which Polamalu endorses.
We’re not quite sure how this would work: If another player does what Larry Johnson did in 2006 and drags Polamalu down by his hair, how many strands would have to get yanked out for Polamalu and Head & Shoulders to collect? We have a feeling Lloyd’s of London will not be paying off this policy.
And we have a feeling some of Polamalu’s teammates are rolling their eyes at this kind of silliness. It’s a good thing he’s not a rookie, or else he might be getting the Tim Tebow treatment.
