Sunday was a good day to believe in the power of underdogs.
Of the 13 games played on the first Sunday of the NFL regular season, seven were won outright by underdogs. The Bills, who closed as 7-point underdogs at Chicago, pulled off the biggest upset of Week One, winning 23-20 in overtime.
The other underdogs who pulled upsets were the Panthers (+5), Dolphins (+4), Vikings (+3), Titans (+3), Falcons (+3), Bengals (+1).
In addition, the Colts (+8.5), Raiders (+6.5) and Browns (+6) covered the point spread in losses.
The only favorites to win and beat the point spread Sunday were the Eagles (-10), 49ers (-3.5) and Texans (-3).
