As pointed out by John Taylor of CFT, the hearings being conducted by the NCAA in connection with the potential wrongdoing of USC’s football and basketball programs have focused on Trojans running backs coach Todd McNair.
McNair, a former NFL running back, was interrogated for two days regarding the Reggie Bush “situation.”
It has been widely reported and believed for nearly four years that Bush and/or his family received money and/or other benefits while Bush was still playing football at USC. The extent to which USC officials knew or should have known about these matters could potentially impact the program.
And there’s still a chance that Bush will lose his Heisman Trophy. Although the NCAA has no jurisdiction over the award given each year to the player determined to have been the best in all of college football, folks from the Downtown Athletic Club said back in 2006 that a declaration that Bush had been ineligible for all or part of the 2005 season could result in the stripping of the award.
After all, if Bush wasn’t eligible to play college football, he couldn’t have been the best college football player.
If that happens, it would likely be an occasion worthy of an all-male shirtless Tequila party for Vince Young.
