Mike Vick finally has become the clear-cut starter for the Jets, even if it’s too late for the team to get to the playoffs. So would Vick be willing to return as the starter from Week One with a clean slate?
“I like it here,” Vick said Tuesday, via Dom Cosentino of NJ.com. “But that’s not my decision to make.”
He’s right, for several reasons. For starters, there likely will be a new coaching staff. New coaches want their own quarterbacks. Throw in the possibility of a new G.M., and there’s another variable that ultimately may choose to go in a different direction.
Plus, Vick has a history of getting injured, which makes him a less attractive week-to-week option.
