Vikes cut Charles Gordon, creating a roster spot

The Minnesota Vikings have announced that cornerback/kick returner Charles Gordon has been waived.

Gordon, who would have been a restricted free agent earlier this year, signed a one-year deal with the Vikings in February.

He suffered one of those nasty, cringe-inducing leg injuries during the 2008 season, and it’s possible that lingering effects of the injury caused the team to decide to move on.

Coincidentally, the move creates a roster spot.

So the Vikings can sign another player.

If said player ultimately chooses to be signed.
