For most of his career, Vikings defensive end Brian Robison was known best for his Mamula-like performance at the 2007 NFL Scouting Combine. (And his world class shot put ability.)

Now he can be known for getting a surprising lucrative second contract.

Adam Caplan of FOXSports.com reports Robison re-signed in Minnesota on a three-year deal worth $14.1 million, with a $6.5 million signing bonus.

They are paying on future production because Robison hasn’t been a huge factor as a pro. His best season came as a rookie in 2007 with 4.5 sacks and 26 tackles.

Robison played as a pass-rush specialist last year, but could be asked to start now with Ray Edwards likely to leave town.
