The Vikings will be looking for a new punt returner.
The team announced the release of Marcus Sherels Tuesday.
Sherels was inactive last week, with cornerback Mike Hughes filling in on punts.
The longtime Viking (123 games from 2010-19) signed with the Saints this offseason, but was released there and came back to the Vikings in late September. He played in three games.
