Since the news out of Minnesota about Teddy Bridgewater’s ankle isn’t too serious, they didn’t need to make a serious run at a veteran quarterback.
Via 1500ESPN.com, the Vikings have signed former Colts quarterback Chandler Harnish to the practice squad.
With Matt Cassel out for the year, the Vikings are down to Christian Ponder in reserve. They signed McLeon Bethel-Thompson to the practice squad previously, and he might get a call-up if they’re worried about Bridgewater’s availability this week.
Harnish was the final pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, but was released by the Colts following training camp this year.
