The Vikings, down two defensive tackles and in need a big body in the middle, have signed defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy. Kennedy will step right into the defensive tackle rotation, assuming Pat Williams and Kevin Williams are unsuccessful in their attempts to block the four-game suspensions the NFL has slapped them with. The Rams selected Kennedy in the first round of the 2003 draft, and he started 30 games in four years in St. Louis. He then played briefly for the Bears in 2007 and for the Jaguars this season. Kennedy became a free agent when the Jaguars released him after their Week 12 loss to the Vikings. Kennedy did not play in that game.
