The same could happen today.
Burfict has left the game against the Panthers with another head injury, and his return has been deemed questionable.
His own playing style leaves him at risk, and has left the Bengals without the heart of their defense.
They’re fortunate that the bad Panthers run defense showed up today, as Giovani Bernard just popped an 89-yard touchdown run to go up 14-7.
UPDATE 1:54 p.m. ET: Burfict just returned to the game, so obviously the concussion tests were negative.
