The game is finally almost here.
I’ve landed in the press box. Florio will leave the NBC compound at some point to come up here, and MDS is strategically placed elsewhere in the stadium for maximum coverage.
(Actually, we just couldn’t get three seats together.)
All of downtown Indianapolis is packed with fans. For what it’s worth, I saw many more Giants fans than Patriots fans for most of the week, including on my way to the stadium.
I also saw a Patriots fan bus that alternated between playing “Sweet Caroline” and yelling out the window towards Colts fans that “Peyton is going to join the Redskins!”
A handful of players like Patriots running back Danny Woodhead and wide receiver/cornerback Julian Edelman are already on the field lightly warming up.
Ryan Mallett is looking sharp in warmups. Yeah, we’re guessing that’s not going to play much of a factor on Sunday.
