Pittsburgh Steelers
The Browns will not have their starting center for Thursday night’s game against the Steelers.
Cleveland has ruled out Elgton Jenkins due to a concussion.
Jenkins was listed as a non-participant on all three injury reports this week.
Luke Wypler is likely to start at center for Jenkins.
Cleveland also ruled out guard Teven Jenkins (back) and receiver/returner Tylan Wallace (knee).
But cornerback Tyson Campbell (knee), safety Grant Delpit (shoulder), and right tackle Tytus Howard (knee) are all set to play with no game status. Campbell did not play in Sunday’s victory over the Panthers.
Steelers Clips
Cornerback Joey Porter Jr. appeared to be making progress toward a return to the Steelers lineup this week, but any hope he would make his 2026 debut on Thursday night against the Browns has been dashed.
Porter was ruled out by the Steelers on Wednesday. Porter was listed as a full participant in practice on Monday and Tuesday with conditioning work given as the only reason why he was on the list. He was limited on Wednesday, however, and the back injury that kept him on the physically unable to perform list all summer is back on the report as well.
While the back injury and need for conditioning are the health reasons for Porter’s absence, his inability to secure a contract extension has been the backdrop to the weekly questions about his availability and the one step forward, one step back nature of his practice work does little to suggest that the contract isn’t playing a role.
The Steelers have other injury concerns at corner. Jalen Ramsey is listed as questionable with what he said is a broken wrist and Brandin Echols has the same designation due to a concussion.
Running back Rico Dowdle (toe) has been ruled out for the second straight game.
By beating the Bengals on Sunday, Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers equaled former Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger’s career win total.
Both Rodgers and Roethlisberger have exactly 165 regular-season wins as a starting quarterback, tied for the fifth-most ever. Roethlisberger played his entire career with the Steelers, while Rodgers has 147 wins with the Packers, 12 with the Steelers and six with the Jets.
The all-time record for wins by a starting quarterback may never be broken: Tom Brady retired with 251 career wins, 219 with the Patriots and 32 with the Buccaneers. You could take Rodgers’ stellar career, add five 17-0 seasons on top of it, and you’d still be one win short of Brady’s career win total.
Tied for second place in all-time wins are Brett Favre and Peyton Manning, each with 186. Favre won 160 starts with the Packers, 17 with the Vikings and nine with the Jets. Manning won 141 starts with the Colts and 45 with the Broncos.
Rodgers has a chance to surpass No. 4 on the all-time wins list, Drew Brees, who won 172 career games: 142 with the Saints and 30 with the Chargers. If Rodgers and the Steelers win eight more games this season, Rodgers will retire ahead of Brees and behind only Brady, Manning and Favre on the all-time wins list.
The Steelers head into Thursday night’s game against the Browns coming off their best offensive performance of the season.
They gained 411 yards after picking up 499 over the first two weeks and a lot of them came in big chunks through the air. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers didn’t have any completions on passes that traveled 20 yards through the air in the first two weeks, but hit on two for touchdowns in the first quarter of their win over the Bengals and there were five passing plays that picked up 20-plus yards in the entire game.
On Tuesday, Rodgers said he thought the offense was “close” to what the Steelers envision it to be but noted no one felt good about the group after their Week 2 loss to New England. The goal, according to Rodgers, is to show more consistency.
“You start from zero for sure, but there’s some vibes that start to flow a little bit if you put together a couple good performances in a row,” Rodgers said, via the team’s website. “We have one decent performance so we’re gonna try and stack a few.”
The Browns are coming into the game with two straight wins, but only one side is going to be able to feel like they’re still on a roll once Thursday’s game comes to an end.
In advance of Thursday night’s game at Cleveland, Steelers defensive back Jalen Ramsey was listed as limited in practice on Monday and Tuesday, with a wrist injury.
Via Brooke Pryor of ESPN, Ramsey told reporters on Tuesday that his wrist is broken.
Will he be able to play with it?
“It’s just going to be about seeing if I’m able to protect it and also still be myself in a good enough capacity where I feel like if I go out there, I won’t be letting any of my teammates down,” Ramsey said.
Via Pryor, Ramsey has a brace/cast on his wrist.
Ramsey, an eight-time Pro Bowler, has played every snap through the Steelers’ first three games of the 2026 season.
The Steelers only held a walkthrough on Monday, but they said that a regular practice session would have resulted in a change of status for cornerback Joey Porter Jr.
Porter was listed as a full participant on the team’s first injury report ahead of Thursday’s game against the Browns. Porter is on the injury report for conditioning after recovering from a back injury and this is the first time he has been listed as more than limited on the team’s injury report. He has not appeared in any games yet this year.
Cornerbacks Jalen Ramsey (wrist) and Brandin Echols (concussion) would have been limited participants on Monday. Head coach Mike McCarthy said it is too early to tell if Ramsey is at risk of missing Thursday’s game.
Running back Rico Dowdle (toe) was listed as out of practice.
Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow battled for 60 minutes today, but a Burrow fumble in the final minute sealed it.
With the Steelers leading 30-27 but the Bengals driving with 53 seconds left, Burrow was sacked and fumbled, the Steelers recovered, and Pittsburgh won at home.
Rodgers completed 19 of 34 passes for 292 yards, with three touchdowns and one interception, a very different game than he had in the first two weeks of this season. Through two games, Rodgers looked old and unreliable, but today he came to life with an outstanding performance.
Burrow completed 28 of 37 passes for 282 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions, but that late fumble will haunt him. Steelers running back Jaylen Warren had 17 carries for 127 yards, and he almost had a much bigger game, but an 87-yard run was called back by a DK Metcalf holding penalty.
The Steelers’ win leaves both teams at 2-1 and tied for the lead in what looks like it will be a very competitive AFC North. If Rodgers can keep playing like he did today, the Steelers are going to be playoff contenders.
The Steelers’ offense was awful for the first two weeks of this season. Week 3 is starting much better.
Pittsburgh received the opening kickoff and marched down the field with ease, as Aaron Rodgers completed three of four passes for 73 yards, the last of which was a 38-yard touchdown to Roman Wilson. Wilson also caught a five-yard pass on the drive, and Jaylen Warren had a reception for 30 yards.
The first two weeks of the season raised questions about whether the 42-year-old Rodgers had anything left. On today’s first drive, Rodgers looked like he does.
Now it’s on Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow & Co. to show that they can do something offensively, too.
The Steelers will remain without cornerback Joey Porter Jr. on Sunday, but they will have a different look on their offensive line.
Porter is inactive for the third straight week. Conditioning was the reason for his inclusion on the injury report this week as Porter is no longer listed with the back injury that kept him on the physically unable to perform list all summer.
While Porter’s been working himself into shape, there’s also been an uptick in trade chatter about the corner. Porter was looking for a new contract heading into the season and the Steelers’ reluctance to give him one has given rise to thoughts that they could move him.
As that saga plays out, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Steelers are making changes to the right side of their offensive line for Sunday’s game against the Bengals. First-round pick Max Iheanachor will start at right tackle with Brock Hoffman at right guard. Dylan Cook and Spencer Anderson started in those spots during last Sunday’s loss to the Patriots.
Bills wide receiver DJ Moore hurt his shoulder in a Week 2 win over the Lions, but he had more than a week to recover from the injury and that was enough time for him to get cleared for action.
Moore is active for the Bills as they try to move to 3-0 on the season at home against the 0-2 Chargers. The Bills will also get defensive tackle Ed Oliver back in the lineup. Oliver missed the Lions game after injuring his hip in pregame warmups and was listed as questionable along with Moore and wide receiver Keon Coleman.
Coleman is also active for Buffalo while backup quarterback Trey Lance is active for the Chargers. DJ Uiagalelei was summoned from the practice squad as insurance after Lance was listed as questionable, but there will be no change behind Justin Herbert.
