Eagles CB Quinyon Mitchell (hamstring) is not on Philadelphia’s final Week 7 injury report.
Quinyanamo Bay is accepting Justin Jefferson applications for Week 7. We don’t think Jefferson is in any danger of getting shut out, but expectations should be somewhat tempered for the sure-fire WR1 against Philadelphia’s best cover corner.
  • PHI Cornerback #27
Eagles CB Quinyon Mitchell (hamstring) practiced in full on Thursday.
This is great news for the Eagles’ defense. Mitchell strained his hamstring in Week 6 and was unable to continue playing. He promisingly kicked off practice with a limited session this week, though, and his upgraded status today puts him firmly on track to face the Vikings this weekend. He will be needed if the Eagles hope to contain WRs Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison.

Eagles CB Quinyon Mitchell (hamstring) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.
Mitchell suffered the hamstring injury in the second quarter of the Eagles’ Week 6 loss to the Giants. He did not return after halftime and was later ruled out. A limited practice this early in the week is a good sign for his availability ahead of Week 7. If healthy, Mitchell will be tasked with covering Justin Jefferson on Sunday.
  • PHI Cornerback #27
Eagles CB Quinyon Mitchell suffered a hamstring injury in Philadelphia’s Week 6 game against the Giants.
Shaken up in the second quarter, Mitchell returned to the Eagles’ sideline with a wool cap instead of a helmet. That is where he remained to begin the third frame. He was soon declared out. Mitchell’s loss further thins an already-undermanned position group for the Eagles, and is a huge boost for Giants QB Jaxson Dart in his third career start. Adoree’ Jackson has taken his place. The only good news is Mitchell has 10 days to try to heal up for a Week 7 matchup with the Vikings.
  • PHI Cornerback #27
Eagles DC Vic Fangio told reporters that the team is “preparing for the possibility” of CB Quinyon Mitchell shadowing opposing wide receivers this year.
It sounds like this could be a matchup-specific tactic, in the event that Mitchell “might need to travel with wide receivers or play receivers on different sides of the field.” In his breakout rookie season last year, Mitchell logged 1,080 snaps on the defensive right side of the field and zero on the defensive left. If he can handle it, this would make the Eagles’ top-tier defense even stronger.
  • LA Linebacker #8
Jared Verse was named Defensive Rookie of the Year.
Verse was named the winner of the award after receiving 37 of the 50 first-place votes. The 24-year-old was a force for the Los Angeles defense in 2024 while picking up 4.5 sacks and forcing four fumbles. He led all edge players in Pro Football Focus’ charting with 66 hurries while helping the Rams to a division title. Quinyon Mitchell finished second with nine first-place votes, and Verse’s teammate Braden Fiske finished third.
  • PHI Tackle #65
Eagles RT Lane Johnson told the Philadelphia Inquirer that “four or five” players on the team were dealing with illnesses.
Defensive tackle Jalen Carter missed Wednesday’s practice with an undisclosed illness, and rookie Quinyon Mitchell is reportedly dealing with laryngitis. In addition to Johnson, defensive coordinator Vic Fangio also mentioned multiple players dealing with illnesses, but none are expected to miss Sunday’s game as a result. These illnesses will likely prove to be little more than a footnote on Super Bowl weekend when all is said and done.
  • PHI Cornerback #27
Quinyon Mitchell (shoulder) was removed from the injury report and will play in the NFC Championship Game against the Commanders.
Mitchell practiced in full on Thursday and Friday, indicating the shoulder injury he suffered last week is at least manageable for the breakout rookie cornerback. Mitchell and Terry McLaurin have faced each other twice this season, with Mitchell allowing zero receptions in Week 11 and McLaurin handily besting him in Week 16. This is a matchup to watch closely on Sunday.

Quinyon Mitchell (shoulder) practiced in full on Thursday.
The star rookie corner was knocked from last week’s divisional round matchup against the Rams but is well on his way to playing in the conference championship game against the Commanders. The Eagles defense will need all hands on deck if it hopes to slow Jayden Daniels, Terry McLaurin, and an offense that totaled four offensive touchdowns in last week’s win over the Lions. Barring an unexpected turn of events, it sounds like we can expect Mitchell to be on the field come Sunday. He’ll have a chance to log another full practice on Friday before the team releases its final injury report for the week.
  • PHI Cornerback #27
Eagles CB Quinyon Mitchell (shoulder) was limited on Wednesday.
This is great news for the Eagles’ stud rookie perimeter cornerback, who exited the Divisional Round game against the Rams due to the injury. He is on track to play against the Commanders this weekend.
