Dolphins hired Chargers defensive coordinator Renaldo Hill as secondary coach and defensive pass game coordinator.
Hill is leaving the Chargers to reunite with Vic Fangio, who the Dolphins hired as their new defensive coordinator. It’s an unusual move, considering that Hill is moving from a defensive coordinator position to an assistant role. However, Hill—like Chargers head coach Brandon Staley—is a disciple of Fangio and will get the chance to work with the influential defensive mind once again in Miami. The Chargers are reportedly looking to promote Derrick Ansley to defensive coordinator.

Chargers hired Broncos DBs coach Renaldo Hill as defensive coordinator.
Like new Chargers coach Brandon Staley, Hill is a disciple of Broncos coach Vic Fangio. Staley and Hill were both in Denver together before Staley was plucked to be the Rams’ DC this past season where he was one-and-done before landing the Chargers job. Hill, 42, had a 10-year career in the league as a player before hanging up the cleats following the 2010 season. He started his coaching career at Wyoming as a grad assistant. He’s been coaching DBs in the NFL since 2018 and spent two years in Denver. Hill is a fast-riser in the coaching community.

Rams interviewed Broncos DBs coach Renaldo Hill for its defensive coordinator vacancy.
New Rams head coach Brandon Staley is familiar with Hill from their time together on Vic Fangio’s defensive staff in Denver. The Cardinals’ seventh-round pick in 2001, Hill played 10 years in the league before beginning his coaching career in college as a graduate assistant at Wyoming in 2012. His NFL resume includes his start as assistant DBs coach with the Dolphins in 2018 and, currently, his role in Denver. This is the first known interview for Hill during this coaching cycle.

Raiders signed CB Renaldo Hill for an incentive-laden deal starting at $565,000.
He can make up to $1.4 million. This is quite an interesting move, because it sets up a possible trade of Charles Woodson this month. The Saints are one team reported to be interested.
