Chiefs signed C Rob Bruggeman, WR Jamar Newsome, FB Shane Bannon, LB Caleb Campbell, DE Lucas Patterson and DT Anthony Toribio to reserve/future contracts.
A former undrafted free agent, Bruggeman appeared in one game for the Falcons each of the past two seasons. Newsome made the Jaguars out of camp, but was waived after two weeks. A seventh-round pick, Bannon could compete for a roster spot in 2012 if Le’Ron McClain is not re-signed. Campbell appeared in three games for the Lions in 2010. Patterson and Toribio are unlikely to compete for roster spots.

Chiefs C Rob Bruggeman was allegedly assaulted in downtown Des Moines early Sunday morning.
Police saw a man shove Bruggeman in the back and then punch him in the face when the ex-Hawkeye turned around. Bruggeman refused medical attention despite a cut on his lip. He’s fighting for a roster spot after spending the end of last year on the Chiefs’ practice squad.
  • Falcons re-signed C Brett Romberg and waived C Rob Bruggeman.
The Falcons presumably released Romberg at final cuts because they didn’t want to guarantee the 32-year-old’s salary. A former starter with the Rams, he offers much more experience than the untested Bruggeman as a backup center.
  • ATL Quarterback
Falcons signed QB D.J. Shockley, C Rob Bruggeman, and WRs James Swinton and Andy Strickland to reserve/future contracts.
Shockley will be given another look as a third-stringer this offseason, but he’s unlikely to make the roster. He doesn’t fit the Falcons’ pro-style offense.

Falcons signed C Rob Bruggeman, OG Jose Valdez, DE Emmanuel Stephens, TE Marquez Branson, and WRs Tim Buckley, Brandyn Harvey and Andy Strickland to reserve/future contracts.
All seven players finished the season on the Falcons’ practice squad. There’s nothing to get excited about here.

    Falcons waived C Rob Bruggeman.
The Falcons needed to make room for DT Jonathan Babineaux, who is returning from a one-game suspension.
