Left Tackle Barry Sims has impressed coach Norv Turner so much that they will move Gallery for the time being. If it makes Raiders fans feel better, Jonathon Ogden played guard his whole rookie season. We doubt Gallery will stay there that long.

The No. 2 pick will end up on the left side eventually. But it’s good news for the Raiders to get their best five offensive lineman on the field.

Drafted as a left tackle, “The Mountain” has also played guard this preseason. This much is clear: The Raiders have an improved, impressive, offensive line.

He suffered the injury during practice this week, but believes he’ll be ready to play in week nine.

The injury is not believed to be serious. There is only a very slight chance Gallery won’t open the season as Oakland’s starting left tackle.

The No. 2 overall pick in the draft will be ready to play this weekend.

Turner expects both to resume practice Monday and be ready for the next exhibition game against Arizona.

Pace is a restricted free agent signed under the franchise tag in St. Louis. The Browns would be willing to give up the picks, but would have to invest huge to get a long-term deal done. They also could attempt trading up (with Tim Couch and Dennis Northcutt?) to obtain Gallery. Plan B is returning Ross Verba to left tackle if healthy.

Gallery has had a great training camp, so naming him a starter is just a formality. Veteran Barry Sims will start this weekend.

MRI results revealed a strained ligament. It sounds like he’ll return to practice this week.
