Karim boasts impressive measurables, but he fell out of favor down the stretch last season after averaging just 2.1 yards on 63 carries as Maurice Jones-Drew’s backup. He could draw interest as a kickoff-return candidate.

Swank, 26, was with Jacksonville last summer before getting waived a week ahead of final cuts. He’ll serve as Josh Scobee’s camp leg again this year.

Though a Lou Groza Award finalist in 2007, a nagging groin injury in his senior season kept Swank from getting drafted. With legit NFL leg strength, he’s landed in an interesting situation. David Akers is coming off a disastrous NFC Championship Game performance and is no longer reliable beyond 40 yards.

Swank has the leg, but the undrafted FA went just 11-of-17 on field goals as a senior, even missing a PAT. The Birds will stay with David Akers for now.

Looks like Shayne Graham is ready to go for Week 1. This also opens the door for some more Chad Ocho Cinco kicking fun.
