UCF sophomore G Samuel Jackson sustained a torn ACL during spring practice.
While Jackson sustained the severe knee injury earlier in the spring, we’re just now receiving confirmation from Knights HC Josh Heupel. It’s a tough blow, as the 6-foot-6, 356-pounder appeared in 12 games last season and was in line for starting work during the upcoming campaign. Said campaign should not automatically be considered a lost cause, but at the very least, Jackson is unlikely to be cleared for game action until October at the earliest. Jordan Johnson moved from center to guard for the team’s spring game and Notre Dame transfer Parker Boudreaux figures to be in the mix come August camp, but the exact depth chart positioning on the line won’t clarify until the summer.
