Shaun Alexander and coach Mike Holmgren sound very hopeful Alexander could play this week.
Asked about his chances of playing, Alexander said, “I always think they’re good. I’m a fast healer. So I’ll be all right.” It’s sounding like, at worst, Alexander will only miss this weekend’s game. Maurice Morris would start in his place.
  • WAS Running Back
Even if Shaun Alexander plays Sunday, don’t expect him to earn the majority of carries for Seattle.
If Alexander can’t practice Friday, it’s a moot point. He won’t play at all. For fantasy owners, a committee approach would make the Seattle runners far less attractive options.
  • WAS Running Back
Shaun Alexander is expected to practice all week and will start on Sunday versus the 49ers.
He’s safe to use this weekend and is a must-play despite disappointing week two performance.
  • WAS Running Back
Coach Mike Holmgren admits he needs to use Shaun Alexander more in the offense.
His total of 12 carries on Sunday was ridiculous. Look for Seattle to get back to 20-25 carries a game for Alexander.
  • WAS Running Back
Shaun Alexander backtracked Thursday about his desire to play in Miami next season.
“This is where I want to be, and everybody knows that,” he said about Seattle. “So for me, it’s really simple. The people upstairs have stuff to do, and let’s leave it at that.” It will be tough for Seattle to keep Matt Hasselbeck, Chike Okeafor, Ken Lucas, Walter Jones, and Alexander. The way this season is going, they might not want to.
  • WAS Running Back
Shaun Alexander said he was “stabbed in the back” by the Seattle coaching staff when they didn’t get him the NFL rushing title yesterday.
The Seahawks choose a QB sneak on a second-and-one from the goal line, a TD play that won the game and the division title. Alexander’s selfish comments are hard to believe, and could factor in his decision to leave Seattle after the season. We were skeptical he’d return as it was.
  • WAS Running Back
Shaun Alexander expressed interest in playing for the Bucs Wednesday.
He expressed interest in most logical teams. ''Some of my best friends live in Tampa and it’s definitely an idea for me to think about,’' Alexander said. Tampa is certainly looking running back. But with their salary cap issues and the #5 pick in the draft, they know they can get one for cheap. Alexander’s crucial fumbles last season won’t help his case.
  • WAS Running Back
Impending free agent running back Shaun Alexander insists he wants to stay in Seattle after this season.
This will be an interesting situation to watch this season. Many in Seattle believe Alexander wants to leave, and that coach Mike Holmgren wouldn’t mind seeing him go despite his huge numbers. Alexander would like an extension before the season starts.
  • WAS Running Back
Shaun Alexander was held out of practice with a sore hamstring.
He probably isn’t in ''football shape’’ after his summer away from the team. Don’t be too concerned.
  • WAS Running Back
Shaun Alexander (hamstring) took snaps with the first-team offense yesterday.
Alexander had missed three days of work with the injury. ''He made a couple of cuts that led me to believe that thing has held up pretty good,’' coach Mike Holmgren said.
